Maria Meerovitch - Piano

Maria Meerovitch was born in St. Petersburg. At the age of eight she performed at the Philharmonic Hall in St. Petersburg receiving praise from Grigory Sokolov. She continued her studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory Institute of Music with masters Freindling and Lebed and later with Anatol Ugorski at the State Conservatory "Rimsky-Korsakov" in St. Petersburg.

In 1990 she moved to Belgium, after receiving a scholarship from "Fonds Alex de Vries" - Y. Menuhin Foundation, where she graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp and immediately began teaching piano and chamber music at the same institution.

He subsequently won first prizes in various international competitions, performing worldwide in recital and chamber music (United States, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, Republic of South Africa, South Korea, Israel and Europe).

She has collaborated and made a number of recordings with chamber music partners, including a collaboration with Sergei Nakariakov with whom she appeared in an Art production entitled "Ich war nie ein Wunderkind" in 2005. Her performance in The Cruise Eco Musica 2010 led to an immediate re-invitation to perform with Pinchas Zukerman and Barbara Bonney in 2011 and to perform as soloist with the Echo and Maxim Vengerov conducting.

His concerts together with the wind soloists of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra have been broadcast on Radio France 3. In 2012 she participated in Ivry Gitlis' anniversary celebration in the Salle Pleyel alongside Argerich, Vengerov, Suwanai and Nakariakov. Maria Meerovitch has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras around the world, including Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra, Schleswig- Holstein Festival Orchestra, Nordic Symphonie Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, Mannheimer Philharmoniker. In recent years, her passion for teaching young musicians has led Maria Meerovitch to give masterclasses in the United States, Germany, South Africa and Belgium, where, in addition to master classes, she has been working on a study related to the treatment of disorder due to tendonitis.
