Alberto Bocini - Double Bass
He graduated in Florence in the class of M° A. Brandi and then continued his studies under the guidance of M° F. Petracchi.
He has been First Double Bass of prestigious international Orchestras: from the Orch. of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome), to the Orch. of the Teatro alla Scala (Milan), the London Symphony Orch. (London), and the Orch. of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (a role he currently holds).
Creator and founder of NBB records , a true novelty on the international scene: a brand he designed and dedicated to the double bass, an ever-evolving record label and Internet portal, which with its many services is now a reference for many double bassists.
He specialized with Franco Petracchi becoming first double bass in the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, a role he also held in the Santa Cecilia Orchestra, La Scala, London Symphony.
He carries out intense chamber activity playing in ensembles with: Y. Bashmet, S. Accardo, N. Gutman, E. Dindo, etc.
He has recorded for Denon, Velut Luna, NBBrecords. He is also a member of the double bass quartet the Bass Gang, with whom he regularly tours the East (Japan, Korea, China).
Passionate teacher, he teaches the Corsi di Perfezionamento at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, the Corsi dell'Orchestra Giovanile Italiana and the Master of Arts at the Conservatoire de Musique de Geneve/HEM, succeeding M° Franco Petracchi in that role.
