Ula Ulijona Zebriunaite - Purple

Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, Ula Ulijona studied at her hometown and later obtained soloist degrees at the Musikhochschule "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin with Tabea Zimmermann and at the Basel Academy of Music with Hatto Bayerle.

Since 1997 she has been the first viola soloist of Kremerata Baltica, the prestigious chamber orchestra founded and conducted by Gidon Kremer with whom she has performed all over the world.

Since 2010 he has held the position of first viola in the Rai National Symphony Orchestra.

Ula Ulijona has been awarded prizes in numerous international competitions, including the "William Primrose" International Competition in Chicago. In Munich she was awarded the "Dietz-Rose fur die Woche" Prize with Dmitri Sostakovic's "Sonata for Viola and Piano" op. 147.

She has performed as a soloist with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Soloists, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Winterthur Symphony Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, in such halls as La Scala in Milan, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Boston Symphony Hall, and the Suntory Concert Hall in Tokyo.

For chamber music he collaborates with, among others, Juri Bashmet, David Geringas, Gidon Kremer, Renaud Capucon, Sol Gabetta, Tatjana Grindenko, Baiba Skride, Christiane Oelze, Heinz Holliger, Nikolaj Znaider, the Keller Quartet, the Royal Quartett, the Petersen Quartett, and the Szymanovsky Quartett.
