Luca Benucci - Horn

Luca Benucci's great concert and teaching career spans more than 30 years and leaves an indelible mark on the international music scene.
A fine performer in all musical genres, under the direction of the most important conductors of our time, he ventures into Jazz, chamber music and solo programs, collaborating with Jazzmen, Classical Virtuosi and Pop/Rock stars.
He is also the originator of new pedagogical methods intent on overcoming performance-related difficulties and perfecting practical methodology; with this experience, he has enriched and positively influenced the lives of numerous professionals and students around the world.

He has been invited to play as First Horn guest in many prestigious orchestras, such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Staatskapelle Solisten Berlin, the Super World Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with the Palau de les Artes Reina Sofia in Valencia and with the Master World Orchestra.
Since 1995 he has held the position of First Horn of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, under the baton of Zubin Mehta.

When he is not working in the orchestra, he devotes himself to his many projects, which he carries out in collaboration with numerous artists and musicians in chamber ensembles such as: the Nuovo Quintetto Italiano, Italian Wonder Brass and the Pop Horn Ensemble.
Benucci is also the founder and artistic director of the Italian Brass Week Festival, which is now in its 18th edition, an international festival dedicated to the world of brass, which aims to provide easily accessible higher level education to students from both Italy and around the world.
He has also founded musical organizations and groups such as the Italian Chamber Orchestra, Mimesis Formazione, Maggio Formazione, Sardinia Brass Festival, Santa Fiora in Musica, Note di Viaggio and Meet the Soloists, and is vice president of the World Brass Association.

He gives master classes at the most acclaimed universities and conservatories around the world, including Boston University, Roosevelt University, Juilliard School of Music, Curtis Institute of Music, Boston Conservatory, Indiana University, Illinois State University, Mannes School of Music in New York, Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, Manaus University, Puebla Conservatory, Gdansk Conservatory, Ankara University, Ionian University of Corfu, Maastricht Conservatory, Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia Conservatory, Tel-Aviv and Jaffa Universities, Musashino Music College of Tokyo, the conservatories of Shanghai, Singapore, and Beijing.
He has worked as brass and woodwind coach with many orchestras including the World Youth Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester, Israel Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Hiroshima Symphony, Belgrade Philharmonic, and Costa Rica Symphony.
He has been invited, as horn soloist and guest lecturer, to prestigious festivals on as many as 4 different continents, collaborating with soloists and conductors such as C. Abbado, R. Muti, D. Baremboim, S. Rattle, W. Sawallisch, G. Pretre, G. Sinopoli, C.M. Giulini, G. Dudamel and Zubin Mehta.
